Tripod is a special cat that had to have one leg amputated. It hasn't stopped her at all. She is a great cat!

Fluffy (Tripod)
Domestic Long Hair-black and white [Mix]

Medium Adult Female
Cat Pet ID: 08-1027

Tripod has long black hair with white on her face. She was very shy and did not want to be petted when she arrived. One day while she was on a table and being petting it was discovered that she had a broken leg. She was immediately taken to the vet. The leg had to be amputated as the bone was so small and thin where a screw would have to be put in, it would not hold.

She cat is in foster care and is doing very well. She gets around well and is friendly and waiting for a new home. Can you give this special cat a loving home?

Kootenai Pets for Life have made this all possible.
Thank You!

We were able to receive the $20,000 matching grant to build our new Shelter because of the hard work of all the volunteers and generous friends of the Shelter we raised $20,000.

We started with a perk and water test last fall and in January we got our well drilled and pump installed. In May the land was cleared in the area of the building. June 7 we had a community day and an Eagle Scout built a storage building as his project. Now we have the foundation and are working on setting up drainage pipes etc. We are on our way one step at a time and one dollar at a time. Our goal is to have a building up and enclosed before winter. The walls are up, the roof is going on and the guys are busy hoping for good weather and good work days! Everyday is an exciting day of construction. See photos

We still must continue our fund raising so we will be able to finish the inside of the building and other necessities. We do hope to have it in a state so that we can move the animals in before the snow falls (or before it gets very deep!)

Do you have a special skill that can be used in building the Shelter? Concrete? Framing? Roofing? Building? Painting? Can you donate money (tax deductible) to the KPFL Building Fund, Box 1454, Libby, MT 59923 or call (406)293-6407. Or e-mail

Please attend and share your ideas!
Our next meeting will be Monday, January 13, 2009. We will have no meeting in December but we will be busy with a fund raiser at Pizza Hut, the Festival of Trees, selling raffle tickets and anything else we can think of. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church at 200 West Larch in Libby. Please use the back door. We invite all our members and anyone interested and wanting to know more. A Board Meeting will follow if necessary. Join us to see what we are about!

If you love animals but can't have one right now - consider becoming a Shelter Volunteer. Or if you are able would you consider fostering a pet in your home until we can find someone to adopt them? Please e-mail if you can help.
