We Have Matching Funds for Donations up to $20,000. Can You Help Us Double Our Money?

An anonymous donor has offered a $20,000 matching grant to KPFL to build a new shelter. Any money raised by August 2008 will be matched dollar for dollar up to $20,000. This is a tremendous opportunity to get the building started and enclosed before winter. Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 1454, Libby, MT 59923. If you have questions please call the Shelter and leave a message and we will get back to you. 406-295-kpfl(5735) Or e-mail

Our current Shelter is located in the old Troy Animal Shelter which the City of Troy has so kindly let us use since our start in 2005. We have received word that we must be out of the building early 2008 so it can be torn down and the land used for something else. It has served us well but if you have seen the building you know that it is in very poor shape.

We started with a perk and water test last fall and in January we got our well drilled and pump installed. In May the land was cleared in the area of the building. June 7 we had a community day and an Eagle Scout has started building a storage building as his project. We are on our way one step at a time and one dollar at a time. Our goal is to have a building up and enclosed before winter.

Do you have a special skill that can be used in building the Shelter? Concrete? Framing? Roofing? Building? Painting? Can you donate money (tax deductible) to the KPFL Building Fund, Box 1454, Libby, MT 59923 or call (406)293-6407.

Did You Know?

In 2007 we facilitated the spay or neuter of 450 pets in the Libby and Troy area. We can help you.

Since the end of 2005 we have taken in, spayed or neutered, brought up to date on meds, and adopted out 1163 animals! We are a no kill shelter. January through April 2008 we have facilitated the spay/neuter of 100 animals.

Your Donations of time, money or supplies to
Kootenai Pets for Life have made this all possible.
Thank You!

Call 293-3435 if you have questions, if you can volunteer, or if you want to donate or e-mail

time. You can be an active or a silent

member - the choice is yours! We

have tax exempt status, which means

contributions made to KPFL aredeductible

as charitable contributionson your federal

and state income tax returns (subject to

rules and limitations the IRS puts on

contributions.)

organization providing shelter and care for the stray

and abandoned foster care, veterinary assistance,

and education. We promote

spaying and neutering of pets and can assist

people in keeping their pets by providing

group here.

Adopting a Companion and Friend

Please look over our Pet List if

you are considering adding a pet to your family. If

you are not in a position tomake a life-long

commitment at this time, consider fostering

an animal. If you love animals but can't

have one of your own now,

volunteer at the shelter and you'll have the love

of many animals.

Come Visit Us!

We have designated Saturdays and Sundays from 10

a.m. to 2 p.m. and sometimes evenings as open visiting hours.

We are usually there every morning but we ask

that you call and make an appointment or check

to see when we are open for visitors so

that we will have time for you. We

are happy to have folks come in to socialize

with the pets and walk them if

they are able. We have found that

when we are trying to get our work done

and many visitors drop in it makes

for a very long day for our time for you

or have another volunteer come in

to talk to you and show you around

while we do our work. Call 406-295-kpfl(5735).
